UK, Allies Impose Sanctions on Networks Supporting Settler Violence in West Bank

The UK, Australia, Canada, France, and Norway have jointly imposed sanctions on networks that finance and enable settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank.
This action comes in response to a significant rise in attacks by Jewish settlers on Palestinian civilians and their property, particularly since the onset of the Gaza war on October 7, 2023, which was preceded by a 56-year Israeli military occupation and a 16-year blockade of Gaza.
The United Nations reported that in 2025, there were 1,835 documented attacks by settlers, resulting in at least seven Palestinian deaths and 832 injuries, marking a 130% increase from the previous year. The UK and its allies stated that these sanctions are intended to hold extremist settlers accountable for their actions.
However, Israel has condemned the sanctions, describing them as disgraceful political maneuvers rather than genuine efforts to curb violence. many governments's growing concern over settler violence is reflected in this coordinated response, highlighting the urgent need for accountability and protection for Palestinian civilians amidst escalating tensions in the region.
