These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Updat3 platform, including our website, mobile applications, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Updat3 ("we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old, that you have read and understood these Terms, and that you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Updat3 is a news aggregation and summarisation platform. We collect publicly available news articles from third-party sources and use AI-assisted processing to produce summaries, analysis, and context. The Service is intended to provide informational content only.

Updat3 is not a news publisher. We do not employ journalists or produce original reporting. All source articles remain the property of their respective publishers. We link to original sources and encourage you to read them.

3.1 Registration

You may use certain features of the Service without an account. To access personalisation features, bookmarking, and email digests, you must register for an account. You may register using an email address and password, or via Google Sign-In.

3.2 Account security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at updat3news@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

3.3 Account termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings page. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in abusive behaviour, or are inactive for an extended period.

Certain features of the Service may require a paid subscription. Subscription fees, billing cycles, and included features are described on the pricing page. All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time through your account settings. Refunds are issued at our discretion and in accordance with applicable law.

We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days before any price change takes effect.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract content from the Service using automated means without our written permission.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
• Transmit any malware, viruses, or other harmful code.
• Harass, threaten, or harm other users.
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent.
• Reproduce, distribute, or republish AI-generated summaries or analysis from the Service as your own original work.

6.1 Our content

The Updat3 name, logo, design, and any original text, summaries, or analysis generated by the Service are owned by or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our proprietary content without written permission.

6.2 Third-party content

News articles, headlines, and excerpts displayed on the Service are sourced from third-party publishers. All rights in such content belong to their respective owners. We display this content under fair use principles for the purpose of news aggregation and commentary. If you are a publisher and believe your content is being used in a way that infringes your rights, please contact us at updat3news@gmail.com.

6.3 Feedback

If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use that feedback without any obligation to you.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any news summaries or AI-generated content. You should not rely on the Service as your sole source of information for important decisions.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, UPDAT3 SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL — ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100 USD.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Updat3 and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

The Service contains links to third-party websites and content. These links are provided for your convenience only. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
